We Accept The Love We Think We Deserve

“We accept the love we think we deserve.

Can we make them know that they deserve more?

We can try.”

To be a wallflower or a table fly?

Or a floor bug to be stepped on.

“She was my favorite person in the world, until now.”

To take the leap towards those we love

Or watch them leave to get pushed and shoved

“I just wanna make sure that the first person who kisses you loves you. Okay?”

This love you show me is something I’m not worthy of.

I’m incapable of feeling wanted.

“Happy Birthday.”

“Make a wish honey.”

What if our wish is something so unattainable

That it slowly eats away at the plausibility of existence?

“And then I’m going to congratulate you on being happy

Because you deserve it.”

We deserve the pursuit of happiness and the change to love the life we always wanted. At the very least, it's an innate right.

“Do you think that if people knew how crazy you really were, no one would talk to you?”

We give too much power to the opinions of others.It’s like giving a fork the power to starve you.

“Do you wanna wear these glasses? They’ll protect you.”

We can try as hard as we can to blind ourselves to the bad things around us, but sometimes...its inevitable.

It seeps in above the lenses and forces our eyes open to see the world.

“10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1! It’s gonna be our little secret.”

Secrets are dangerous.

They come with a power that is both addicting and poisonous.

“How’s your first relationship going?

It's so bad that I keep fantasizing that one of us is dying of cancer so that I don’t have to break up with her.”

Cancer is such an ambiguous enemy. So notorious

Yet so evasive. So loud and so sneaky all at the same time. Like Love.

“I’m starting to get bad again.”

“I just get so messed up inside. Like I'm not there or something."

“C’mon. Let’s go be psychos together.”

Let your screams fill the night sky.

Maybe after we kill each other, we can go cry

“Why can’t you save anybody?

I don’t know

Forget it.”

Some journeys aren’t free. There's a big man

At the door and we need to pay the toll.

“But after a while he runs out of things to keep himself numb.”

The worst pain isn't a pain that makes you go numb,

it's the pain that takes you out of your numbness.

It wakes up your nerves with a bolt of electricity and shuts off any dampened you have.

“Why do I and everyone I love pick people who treat us like we’re nothing?

We accept the love we think we deserve.”

Actions are false realities used to portray the ideal situation to those around you. The thoughts that only you know of are the only genuine notions of life.

“There is so much pain. And I don’t know how to not notice it.

It’s them. It’s everyone. It never stops. Do you understand?”

Pain is an inevitable part of life that we are all suffering through

But whether or not we can learn to embrace one another through it, I’ll never know.

“We cant choose where we come from, but we can choose where we go from there”

You are the master of your soul and the caption of your fate.

Do what you can to get what you need and

do what you must with what you receive.
